How it works
Nobody watches slides. Every seat brings one real stuck problem, and the room builds solutions to them together.
Everyone puts a real unsolved problem from their own business in front of the room. Not a hypothetical, the thing you are actually stuck on. Then the group works on each other's problems.
Alex sits with each attendee to architect a solution and show how to direct the AI. There is something working at the end of it, so putting your problem out there pays off the same afternoon. You leave understanding how software gets built this way, with a working start on your own project.
You are being sold AI from every direction, and nobody is showing you where it breaks or what it costs you when it is wrong. A real share of the session goes to that.
It is free, and there is no pitch. Alex teaches the session. Separately, PurpleOwl is building a new app for small businesses. That app is not part of the session: it isn't shown, and it isn't for sale in the room. What Alex gets out of the day is honest conversation with the people who would use something like it. That is what he is paid in, and a pitch would wreck the feedback.
Your instructor
Alex Radulovic, founder of PurpleOwl
Alex has been building software for over forty years. He co-founded I-Link (later inContact, acquired by NICE) and AccessLine (acquired by Intermedia), holds early VoIP patents, and today runs PurpleOwl, a custom software studio in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In the session he does not lecture. He sits down next to you, looks at your problem, and shows you how to get the AI to build the first working version of the fix.
On September 2, 2026 he appeared on FOX 32 Chicago's ChicagoLIVE to talk about AI, an invitation that came out of the seminar connections.

What we'll cover
A working session, not a slide deck. Bring a real problem.
Before you come
Two accounts to set up, and one real problem to bring.
Set up ahead of time
-
A Claude account on the Max plan The $100/month tier at claude.ai. Max includes the current top model, which is what we build with; the cheaper Pro plan doesn't. Think of the $100 as the cost of the workshop. You can cancel or downgrade after a month once you know what you actually need.
-
A GitHub account Free, at github.com. This is where your work will live so you don't lose anything and can pick it up again later.
-
Optional: a Google account Only if you want to build something that runs on a server (Google Cloud / Firebase). Not required for day one.
Plan names and prices current as of August 2026.
What to bring
Most importantly, a real problem from your business. This works far better with something you actually care about than with a toy example. Things people have brought or talked about bringing:
- 250 spreadsheets, each describing a process in its own slightly different way, and you'd like one system instead
- Fair scheduling for your team, with hours or shift data you can export from payroll
- A recurring report someone assembles by hand every week
- A form, intake process, or approval chain that lives in email and sticky notes
If you can bring sample data (spreadsheets, exports, even screenshots), even better. Scrub anything sensitive: no SSNs, no customer PII.
Who comes, and what they built
Non-technical is fine. Owners and operators, not developers.
Sessions bring together owners and senior people at small and mid-size firms: CPA practices, wealth advisors, employee-benefits trusts, hospitality companies, PR firms, home-care accounting, executive coaching, and manufacturers (industrial, linear motion, plating, engineering, contract manufacturing).
Every room so far has had something working by the time people packed up. One manufacturer's app was on GitHub the same evening.
The thank-you thread afterward was not people thanking me. It was people thanking each other. It went on for days, and nobody organized it. Two people asked separately whether the group could keep meeting.
What attendees say
“I truly enjoyed the workshop and came away with a great deal of valuable knowledge and insight. The experience was made even more meaningful by the opportunity to connect with such a wonderful group of people.”
“I truly enjoyed participating and appreciated the opportunity to learn alongside the group. The discussions were engaging, and I found the workshop both informative and valuable.”
“Great meeting and well worth the time.”
“This was very insightful. Thanks for your time.”
“Emphasizes the point Alex made yesterday of being mindful of the risks/limitations (but also the power/potential). See you all again soon!”
“Our AI guide, Alex Radulovic, has taught me a great deal in the last couple of years. I am thrilled to be able to share Alex's talent with each of you.”
Reserve a seat
Eight seats, so everyone's problem gets worked. No cost.
